Parents

welcome

Welcome to Bill Arp Elementary School. We are proud of our dedicated, experienced staff and enthusiastic learners! Please use the links to the right to help answer questions you might have about our school.

We have a long-standing tradition of building a strong learning community among students, parents, staff and the business community. The 2022-2023 school year is full of possibilities and we look forward to welcoming our students back home!

Bill Arp is committed to providing the opportunity for students to develop the skills necessary to meet the challenges of our modern technological society. We provide Science Technology Engineering Art and Math (STEAM) integrated instruction and activities throughout the year. Each May we celebrate with a school-wide STEAM day where many community service organizations and businesses provide real world experiences for students to see how STEAM skills are applied in various careers and daily life.

We encourage you to become an active part of the Bill Arp learning community. Maintaining frequent and open communication with your child’s teachers and school staff is an integral part of the educational experience. We also have a wonderful PTA and School Council that welcome your membership and participation. Our PTA actively provides volunteers, personnel, and financial support to help meet student needs throughout the school year.

Opportunities for student involvement are plentiful at BAES. We offer many after school activities and clubs such as First Lego League Robotics, Girls Who Code, Science Club, Chorus, Art Club, Drama, Road Runners, and Gravity Games. We also have an After School Program (ASP) that provides a safe environment for our students. Homework time, an afternoon meal, creative play and other activities provide a fun and safe place after school. The one time registration fee is $10.00, with each afternoon stay costing $8.00. Once a week academic tutoring is available upon request.

Attendance and punctuality are such important factors in academic success. Our building opens at 7:00 a.m. to receive students. Morning procedures begin at 7:40 a.m. and students are ready to start their learning by 8:00 a.m. School is dismissed at 2:20 each day. It is important for students to be in attendance and to minimize tardies and early check-outs as much as possible as instruction time is valuable. Help your child develop this important life skill by reinforcing the importance of attendance and punctuality.

It is our desire to keep you informed of all that is taking place at school. Up to date information and student work will be sent to you through the weekly "Tuesday Folder" or through our email system. Many teachers use the Class Dojo app for regular communication. Updates will also appear on our school web page and social media feeds. If you have questions or concerns that arise at any time, please do not hesitate to give your child's teacher a call.

We look forward to a fun filled year where students will shine with success! As demands and complexities of teaching children increase, it becomes more evident that we all need to work together to insure that our children reach their potential. We believe that all of us - the school and the community - must work together in an extended family environment to insure success for all our students. We believe it is everyone's responsibility to empower children with the creative, intellectual, and decision-making skills necessary for them to become academically, socially, physically, and emotionally successful and responsible.
