Welcome to Science with Mrs. Gorzynski!

Here are a few tips for success this year...

1. We have a "flipped" classroom. That means students use their Chromebooks or other at-home device to take notes for homework, and then we work together on hands-on activities in class. 

2. Science is vocabulary rich. We will read in our science textbook and from other nonfiction texts every week to build our knowledge and skills.

3. I am a BIG believer in hands-on / minds-on science activities. We will be going to our nicely equipped science lab often. Safety and positive behavior are a must in the lab. Please remind your student often that it is critical to listen and follow directions. 

4. Our science curriculum covers Earth's landforms and changes to its surface, electricity and magnetism, physical and chemical changes, plant and animal classification, plant and animal cells, and learned &  acquired behaviors. 5th grade is a BIG year!
